Andriano De Souza G-Shock Athlete

Bio

At 16 years old, Adriano de Souza became the youngest surfer to win the World Junior championship, a title that he still holds today. He bears all of the attributes of a true champion and has overcome both poverty and multiple career-threatening injuries on his path to surfing greatness. Adriano is considered one of the toughest athletes to compete against, unafraid of anyone who stands between him and his goal of becoming the World Champion.

In his first 2 years on tour, at aged 19 and 20, Adriano had a mix of overwhelming and pressure to be travelling and competing against the top surfer in the World. He had a few good results but finished in 20th and 28th in the World but he knew he could do it better. In his third year, he astonished the World with 2 third places and 3 fifth places during the year and Finished 7th in the world. Since then he finished all the championship tour in the top 10, except one year.

During this period of tour he already made 10 finals and won 5 of then. He also reached another 8 semi-finals. Adriano is considered one of the toughest athletes on tour and the one that no one likes to compete against. He knows that and smile, because as he says: “ I know that I m not the most talent surfer on tour, but for sure I’m one that trains the most to balance that and when I’m competing I don’t have to be a better surfer than my opponent always, but only on those 30 minutes we are competing in the water.” If that in mind, Adriano is not afraid of any one to reach his goal : to become the World Champion.
